Well, got a call from the PO at 6:30 this morning and was surprised, as I called Ideal yesterday and they were supposed to ship in the late afternoon! They are in Texas and we are in So. California.... they got here in like 14 hours!

All of them were warm and cozy and peeping up a storm! The kids were soooooo excited. After they warmed under the lamp for a bit, they are eating and drinking like crazy. They all look fabulous. There is one that keeps "yawning" that I am keeping an eye on , but I am hoping that resolves itself, and that it isn't gape.

    Here are photos!

And a photo of the "chicken mauler" with her new subject...

I love how they kind of made a nest around the chicks. That must help in shipping. I don't think MM does that, at least they haven't on the ones that I picked up.

Thanks! We think she is adorable too (and so does she!) LOL!

    We got ALL Bantams:

    3 Birchen Cochins
    4 Blue Cochins
    3 Buff Cochins
    3 Partridge Cochins
    3 Red Cochins
(can you tell we love cochins?)
    3 Blue Mille Fleur
    3 Mille Fleur
    3 EE

Also, about the nesting..... there are holes all around the box that were not punched out, but the lid had ones punched out for air. I really think that this combined with the great nesting stuff kept them so warm. In fact, when I put my hand in to lift them out to put in the brooder, they were almost HOT-- way warmer than my (always) cold hand! I was very happy. This is my first order with Ideal, but WILL NOT BE MY LAST! I am glad that I ordered from somewhere that made the delivery route so they would not have to go into the colder states (thanks MissPrissy et, al, for your posts on that!)
