My wife just called me at work and said she went home for lunch and found a nice little brown egg right smack in the middle of the egg box!

I'M A FATHER!!! Well. sort of. [IMG]

Edited to add: It amazes me how she knew to get in an old Coca-cola crate filled with wood shavings and lay her egg. Who told her??? [IMG]

Isn't it the greatest feeling ever when you get your first egg???? It's really funny now b/c you will be out there all of te time checking for eggs. Mine started laying last summer sometime and I am always still running out to check for eggs! It's so much fun, like a great surprise!!!
    Congrats!

    Congrats!

I'm at 24 weeks with my oldest pullets and 22 weeks with my younger pullets. I'm starting to notice that their combs and wattles are starting to redden so hopefully soon!

Every time I buy eggs at the store I hope it is the last carton I will have to buy! LOL

    Take care,

    Tami

One of mine started squatting about two weeks ago. That seems to be a sure sign it's gonna happen soon.
