Back Yard Chickens has been a resource for me for over 3 years as I researched the world of chicken keeping and then took the plunge with my first coop and six sweet chicks. I cannot put a value on the sage advice and knowledge that members have shared. You have saved me from making countless mistakes and been a comfort when things did not go well despite all my efforts. And talk about humor! I've read those posts! I've got your title! Lol!

With the installation of a second coop and expansion in varieties of breeds, its time to "cross the road" and become more active in the community. In addition to this tome, I have need to post on the Buy - Sell - Trade forum.

Hello and thank you so very much!

:welcome:celebrate

Glad you're here !

A must have for your poultry is a FIRST AID KIT for any issues that would arise. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/suggestions-for-a-first-aid-kit.1150128/) and (https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...essential-supplies-and-how-to-use-them.64830/)
It's definitely better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Also, make sure your coop(s) have a proper amount of VENTILATION. (https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...-there-and-cut-more-holes-in-your-coop.47774/) Your chickens will absolutely thank you for it!

Welcome Charlie,
Glad to see you are working on your Chicken Math skills! Very important to calculate what you are in for, or at least try. One suggestion if you are able might think about chickens you want space they will need and then build some thing 2 or 3 times bigger according to human math :lau

Have fun!
We are glad you are here:thumbsup

:welcome I love your title. This is such a great and informative group. I wish I had discovered this site before I got my chickens, you were smart to do so. You're probably way ahead of the curve by now. I'm sure you are going to enjoy your journey on this side.
Thank you. Every time in life I think I may be ahead of the curve it turns out to be an "S."
