Hey all. Chicken newbie here. Just finished my first coop...all before the 110 degree heat here in Phoenix. So, needless to say, I'm stoked. Although, the chickens were a bit confused by the rearrangement of their roost, but they'll get over it...I hope.

I think it has just enough shade and plenty of ventilation for our summers. Let me know what you think.

It looks good. I like the idea of the bamboo to conceal the coop. How many hens are you going to keep in it?

Judging from the photo, I assume you also are an illegal operation.

I saw that corrugated roofing a Lowes. I was not too sure how it would hold up in the heat.

And as for the cold weather, well, it just doesn't happen here.

I would suggest having two watering jugs. If they manage to knock one over, they will still have a back up. Go without water for a couple hours here, and you are out of the chicken business.

Good Luck,

Rufus

PS If you live in the area I think you do, you had better put a lock on that door.

Thanks. We'll most likely limit the flock to four chicken, so don't really need to much more space. Thanks for the tips.
