Today marks the day when construction begins on our coop. The deminsions will be 12x10 in size. Here are a few picks to start off with...........

Our day began when Dad went to finish some work in the garden at 7 am this morning
    [IMG]

and after that a friend showed up out of the blue and helped us pick up some lumber so we went to scrounge in the lumber yard to see what we could find. [IMG]

Here is the empty spot where the coop will be......

Then One truck load of 2x4's (34 to be exact)........

Plus one truck load of 12 2x6's and 24 1x6's and 3 cap blocks later plus a few extras.........

We ended up with all this.............

for less than $60. WOW!!!what a blessing. [IMG]

The price even included a skill saw blade, 3 chocolate Yoohoo drinks and a can Mt. Dew [IMG]

I'll keep you posted as to how the construction goes today.

O.K. here's some updates as far as this afternoon went......

    Starting the floor frame...
Then in went the floor joist...

    Then what did we need?
The floor joist went by easy. The right nails were hammered. [IMG]

    Down comes the floor.....

Then down comes the rain [IMG]

Well maybe we can work again on Monday [IMG]

Today a friend from church came by and helped me finish the floor.

So we worked on that and we finished around lunch time

Then, of course, the rain came, again. My husabnd and I are going to work again on it come Wednesday. He is going to take a day off of work so we can possibly get more work done. I will keep you posted with new pics.

I hear you! We're working on a coop and run, and getting the right time combined with the right weather is tricky! Thanks for sharing, and that reminds me- I must get some pics of today's work in the run...[IMG]

Looks good so far. The weather has been unreasonable lately for sure. I have had snow for the past two days. [IMG]

    Keep up the excellent work.
