Starting this past Friday, I've got eggs!!! Out of the five girls, only one was laying for a couple of days and then yesterday, two!

I didn't take a picture, but I danced around a lot with DH and waved it about like a victory flag!

    Yay!!!!!!!!

That's wonderful. In a few weeks you'll be wondering what to do with all the eggs. I've had every egg dish in the world!

Aren't we silly about these first eggs? When 'Rex' laid her first egg and was announcing it to the world I ran out and gave her a big huge mazel tov!. All the kids in the neighborhood are fascinated and I've had to give a couple away to particularly sweet kids.

Today Rex laid her 6th egg in a row, her 8th out of 9 days. I can't believe it and its winter. They are rather small but very tasty.

    Enjoy!

Quote:Ours are just about to turn 24 weeks, and only two (maybe three) of 13 have layed but a handful of eggs in the last couple weeks.

We started out with a batch of three hens last year, so have been getting eggs, but we were still excited to see the first eggs from this new group! [IMG]
