Not another coon. I've got a lot of those this year.

I picked up a game camera. It's out alongside the chicken run tonight. Hope to see something interesting on it tomorrow.

How fun! I love my game cams. They keep me apprised of what is going on when I'm not around. I used to track animals, but the game cam has made me lazy. Why search for signs when you can just pop out a video card and read it?

    Enjoy!

The camera that I picked up is a Skypoint IR-5. It uses SD cards and AA batteries. The manual was a bit confusing but not too tough to figure out. I picked up a pair of 4 GB SD cards for it. That way I can just swap them out rather than drag the unit in to dump pictures.

I've known that we've had a big raccoon in the area as it gets into my sister in laws trailer going after her cat food but to date I haven't been able to catch him in a trap. I was surprised by last nights pictures though. The left side is the coop and the fence runs right up the hill. It definitely knows that there are chickens inside the coop. These should be poster images as to why any raccoon on your property should be removed.

Poor thing doesn't even realize how his days are numbered. Actually hours are numbered.

Oh, yes. He has grown much too bold. He probably needs to go.

    Good luck.
