Finally got some Marans hatching eggs!

A few years ago I seriously researched Marans but never got any but recently
I happened to luck out and get some Marans hatching eggs from Bev Davis.
This group includes Wheatens, Black or Blue Coppers and Blues.
I'm pretty excited but I'm not counting my chicks before they hatch!

Those are very nice looking eggs! How exciting to get some from Bev Davis!! Marans are great birds. Mine are big and have wonderful personalities, not to mention the gorgeous eggs they lay!!!!

Hope you have a great hatch!!!! We have an auction going on ebay under sandspoultry for cuckoo marans that end today. We just hatched some copper blacks, we had 7 hatch out of 12. They were shipped eggs so we were pleased.

I'm trying to not get too excited...
at least until some hatch out and are doing well.

Its nice to hear yours have nice temperaments
Skeeter cuz it seems to me I've heard they weren't the best in that department.
Also heard by their 2nd year the hens get real broody and stop laying.
Whats your experience?

I have one pullet that lays dark like those, two others that lay lighter eggs. Here are the dark ones. The pullet hatched early April and I already have a dozen chicks hatched from her, the last one hatched last night. Right now she is brooding a staggered batch of EE eggs... best hen ever and she is only seven months old so far... I got my eggs from ebay seller bayhorsebonne.

I just love Marans eggs.

I hope the hatch goes really well. The Blue Copper Marans are my favorite.
