3 out of 6 of my laying age hens started laying a few weeks back..But i never was able to see them lay or watch what they do when they are fixing to lay.

I spent the morning in the barn watching my hens,NOISY!! My hens were bawking loud and constantly!!,Finally one of my RIR hens goes over to where they usually lay and she sets down in the nest and starts pulling hay towards her and flinging hay over her shoulders on both sides. She does this for almost an hour, getting her a nest like shape in the hay.I went over to pet her and she started biting me,so i left her alone..Then she stood up,and squated,done...squated...done....squated...blooop! lol
Then she gets up and goes back to her friends like nothing ever happen...

This was the first time i was able to see wich hen was laying that brown egg..[IMG]
