Been visiting here on and off for several years now and am finally with a little flock so I will need some guidance from time to time.
We have a 6+ year banty we found on the side of the road , well 6 years ago. She is our house chicken and is one of the family. She even goes on vacation with us, she's seen it all.
My DH decided to finally say yes to us getting some working girls here this summer so my boys and I took a drive out of the burbs and came back with 4 EE chicks and raised them from 10 days old. Total bummer one ended up being a roo who was blessedly relocated last week to a lovely family who just moved to the country and now has a great big barn which called for a beautiful, friendly roo.
My girls decided to lay their first eggs Christmas Eve, though 1 is still holding out though I did get a squat today.
I'm enjoying all the discussions and information provided here and it felt like it was finally time to settle in.
