Hi, everyone. The hubs and i live in Sonoita, AZ. We'd like to adopt a few chickens, probably as layers, but probably more as pets. We're thinking early spring would be a good time to take this on. (We still have to build the coop and run.) Our local feed and tack sells day-old chicks in the spring, but being a newbie, I'd like to start with pullets, maybe a young roo--birds that are in a more sturdy phase than chicks. Sonoita is about 40 miles SE of Tucson. Does anyone know of any breeders in southeast AZ I could consider when we're ready to get started? Thanks!
