I purchased my first Cemani chicks in April of last year. Here are photos of their first offspring through selective breeding. Selective breeding in that one of my roo's had some bleeding (red) in his wattles & is separated from the flock. All of the hens look great. These little guys/gals are about 5 weeks old. All in all very pleased. I realize it is still early but any guesses as to gender? I'm thinking 3 cockerels & 4 pullets.

I should have another 10 hatches in a few weeks. My goal is to continue to weed out any irregularities in hatches & maybe sell a few next year.

Thank you Virginia and James.

Here they are again at about 8 wks. Looks like maybe 3 cockerels & 4 pullets?

I think it's time you broke down and read previous posts much more coherently!!! You stated 4 ladies didn't you?! How many cockerels does that leave?!

Don't make things so complicated! Numbering only the top photos 1 thru 7 from left to right...1, 4, & 7 are cockerels. Wow I didn't know cockerels have larger combs?! Do they have larger tail feathers as well?!

I first thought I had as many as 3 roos. Now I think there is only one, possibly 2.
Here's a better look at them.

I know this is a old thread but if anyone else is trying to figure out what theirs are this may help. I have this bread and the roos have a larger comb and are slightly bigger body with nice pointed saddle feathers that come over their back and have a taller extended tell. When a hen a roo stand next to each other they are easy to identify a a few months old. They are beautiful and sweet chickens you can see in this picture in the foreground the roo is on the left (you can tell by the larger cone and his feathers and the hen is on the right she has a much smaller comb and smaller body and lack of saddle feathers
+.

I agree in terms of crowns, including wattles. Although with regards to size; one of these girls (1st photo) is larger than the roo & the other one is just as large. With regards to the 3rd photo, the roo is the only one attempting to crow.

You were right. 3 'pullets' started to crow. :idunno
