If chicks didn't have to cheep so darn loud I might have got away with it for a while longer. We've been selling the flock down and my wife had no idea the incubator was going. Then we woke up to this My wife was saying "what IS that noise?" I just looked innocent and was thinking "Shut up chick, until she leaves anyway, then I'll sneak you out to the barn." In a couple minutes she comes in and hollered "there's a chick in the 'bator! I thought you were gonna wait until spring to go crazy hathching again?" I blamed it on my son, after all... it IS his chick. After all, I don't have any bantams. Everything gets blamed on poor little me.
