first chicken egg!

    I'm pretty sure its from the salmon faverolle, I think the BO is to young still.
    Nice hard shell, but small.

    She has a nice basket with pine shavings in it, but dug a hole in the coop and laid it in there

    Congrats on a beautiful egg! My hens just started laying this week too, its all so exciting!

    My duck has been laying for several weeks now, and she is the same age as the chickens. i just figured this late in the year she wouldn't start till spring

    [​IMG] Congrats.

    I just had my other hen start laying an eggs over the weekend. It was fun to open the coop up and find the surprise of a second egg.

    I know its a thrill going to the duck house every morning and finding the egg she leaves me. Theres been 1 day she hasn't laid so far...hopefully the chickie will do the same.​
