First Day Out Pictures

Our 11 newly hatched ducklings are now 1.5 weeks old so we decided to give them their first day out. They are Saxony ducks and they can be taken rather quickly off the heat lamp. Temps are in the upper 60's and I watched them outside. They show no signs of huddling so I know they are fine. The outdoor time is good for them to build skills and strength. They will be back in the brooder tonight.

Sunshine and Shadow are not too happy about the new addition. They are running up and down the aviary with their mean faces up. Forget about the kiddie pool. Too funny to watch.

How sweet with the momma ducks looking in on them. They look adorable- Hope they enjoyed their day- and of course- it means a little less mess to clean up too.

nice pen and even nicer little duckies...They are so cute. The other ducks are lookng like , what you mean we have competion now...oh my.
