Woo hoo!! Got our first Cayuga duck egg today. I can't believe the silly birds are laying eggs in this cold and snow. Perhaps the heat lamp is encouraging them.

Cool! What color is it? I love Cayugas and I want a trio someday.

The eggs are a light green which make them easy to recognize among the brown chicken eggs. We got a second one today! The male was being a bit aggressive towards the chickens a few days ago. This is uncharacteristic for him so I now suspect that it is because she is laying and he is trying to protect the nest.
