We have six barred rock pullets we got in early May. Today we got our first little egg from one of them and I am so happy that I was home and able to go out there and check when I saw one of the hens coming out of the henhouse. Here are pictures:

Yippee! how exciting. We got our barred rocks at the beginning of June, so we have a while for them but got our first egg from the LH yesterday. It is so exciting

I just went out to find another tiny egg in the same nesting box. I am so happy the girls know right where to go to lay them. We were afraid, since they free range so much when we are home, that they might not know to go back to the house to lay them....

My RIRs are starting to lay now and they are laying the tiniest little things you could imagine. They look like bantam eggs!
