First egg in the flock vs switching food.

I got 4 chickens and one of them just layed her first egg. They are still on the pullets feed and i know that i will have to change their feed to the layers formula. Should i switch their food right now or i should wait until im sure that they are all laying eggs? When is the best time to switch their feed?

I'd use up what I have left and then buy layer feed the next time I had to buy feed, but yes, you can start now. I'm assuming the rest are expected to starting soon also.

Yes, use up what you have. Feed is too expensive. Layer Feed has NO MAGIC at all. It merely has the calcium ground into the feed, that's all. You can accomplish the same thing by providing a calcium source, such as crush egg shells or oyster shells, on the side.
