I have 5 New Hampshire Red hens. One is laying, and has layed 5 eggs that are small, but the shells are hard, and thick. The yolks are dark, and the whites hold together unlike store bought!
Before work I checked, and no eggs. After work I checked, and apparently my kid locked them out of their coop, so they congregated onto their bag of food. Underneath one was a rubbery egg. It had broke already, and yolk, and whites were sliming all over the totes the feed bag sits on.
Is a rubbery egg normal for a newbie?
