First egg woohoo!!!

    My Buff Orpington hens just turned 19 weeks, looked in the house to clean out the old straw. And there it was laying in the straw on the back wall. Now going to put in nest boxes tomorrow. I guess it's time to start feeding layer feed!!

    Hurray! I always get excited by a pullet's first egg! It's like she completed a rite of passage into henhood.

    Ya I have not had chickens since I was a kid. Have had quail for 3 years, but chickens are way more fun!
