First egg ! X

    Look what I found this am ! X I also found a bit of blood I can't find any injuries could it be from the first egg passed ? X

    Congratulations! I don't raise quail, but as a chicken and duck raiser, a small bit/smear of blood related to a pullet egg wouldn't cause me too much concern. If it's a lot of blood, of course, that would be a different story.

    I have pullets that just started to lay and found a few eggs with blood smears on them; the girls are healthy and normal. Here's a thread that may be helpful (and entertaining): https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/596328/blood-smear-on-pullet-egg.

    Thanks guys I was hoping it was just cos it was a first egg I'm so excited for tomorrow morning to fingers crossed more eggs ! X my neighbors must think I'm crazy I was very excited shouting oh my god I have an egg at 8am in the morning ! X my nana is visiting and she was with me when I found it so nice to share it with her too ! X :)
