Hooray!! Congratulations! The first eggs are always SO exciting! The good news is, it still always feels like Easter morning every day thereafter. [IMG]

I am anxiouslt waiting for my chicken's first eggs, but nothing yet from mine. Curious about whether you are using extra light to get them to lay? I decided not to,so maybe mine (19 and 20 wks old) willjust wait until next spring? I just don.t know how this all works!

Quote:I got my first chicks one July and they all began laying by December with no supplemental light. I do supplement light now though because it makes a HUGE difference in egg production and I sell my eggs.

I hope I will be as lucky as you were without any extra light. Depending on how it goes, maybe I will change my mind next fall! Thanks
