First Ever Chicks Arrived Today!

Hi All,

New here and just wanted to say that I now have 7 chicks - 2 RIRs, 2 barred rocks, 2 araucanas and 1 buff orph. I set up a rabbit cage as a brooder and so far so good. I'm giving them plenty of food and fresh water.

I AM RAISING MY FIRST FLOCK AS WELL. SEVEN PULLETS AND ONE ROOSTER THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A PULLET TOO. THEY ARE ABOUT THREE AND A HALF MONTHS OLD. AS I SAY, THEY AREN'T CHICKS, THEY ARE LITTLE CHICKENS NOW. DOING GREAT AND SHOWING US A GOOD TIME............GOOD LUCK!!!!

isn't it fun!!!? I'm going on my 2nd week with mine!!! Congrats!!!


Also, that cage is going to get really small QUICK!!!

I have 7 on a large dog crate from 2 weeks to 4 w old and they are already running out of room!! If 2 of them spread their wings at once is a gurantee fight! lol
