I have a 2.5 year old Faverolles hen that has a swollen bulge in between her toes. The bottom of her foot seems fine. This is my first time seeing this problem. My other hens are all fine. Any advice?View attachment 3283878

Never mind... I think I will have to clean it well and hopefully it will heal.

The pic isn't loading for me, but carefully look between her toes on the underside of her foot. Sometimes dirt or small stones can build up in there and it can be quite hard to dig it out. You will likely have to spread her toes apart while looking underneath to see if there's anything there.

Here is the pic

Not sure what it is, but pls check deep between her toes. I have a hen who always gets things stuck in the folds of skin between toes and if I didn't clean it out I think it would look similar.

I attached a pic of my chickens foot to show where I mean. It's really hard to see unless you move the flesh around. You can see she's got a small stone or build up of dirt in there currently.

Edit: here's other threads about the same thing

Update: First time taking a chicken to a vet... :p
She said I did well on wrapping the infected foot. She cleaned it, put fresh bandages on, and gave me a few tablets of doxycycline. (2 weeks of egg withdrawl)
Has anyone here used this treatment?
Hope it works!! :fl
Oh, and she laid an egg while in the exam room!!

Did your vet lance and clean out the infection?
Hopefully she will heal right up, just change your bandages and check to make sure they aren't too tight.
