A couple months ago, a man gave my husband some chickens. Among them were two Cornish: a red laced hen and a white rooster. We decided we wanted more of them, so we helped our 3rd grade (homeschooled) son build an incubator from a foam box used to transport meds to a farmer's co-op. We created a turner out of an egg carton and pvc pipe. We put in 5 eggs on Aug 17, and one each on the 18th and 19th. All seven hatched and are doing great! [IMG] We've learned SO SO much on BYC!! We are definitely hooked!

That's great. Have lots of fun with your chickens and enjoy the with your son some things about them, I think he'll appreciate it later on.
