My hens that I worried would never sit, have finally gotten the hang of things... they started sitting couple weeks ago and now we have the fruits of their labor....so far I count 9 little peeps running between the two hens. Was worried that they may hurt the little ones but so far the chicks go all over each hen with no problems. Even daddy roo has come to the box and looks in at these new little ones but hasn't acted aggressive toward them as I thought he might. Too cute not to share.

My husband says they're plain ole yard chickens. Game chickens is what I think he means. But they are two beautiful red hens that are gentle and handles easily. They let me pet them and the chicks. I sit and talk to them every evening after work. I can hardly wait for the little ones to start running all over the coop.

When I got home yesterday they were all out running around 16 out of the 19 made it!! Rooster doesn't bother them (seems overwhelmed and maybe a bit scared of it all), and the hens share baby care. A real happy bunch!!

Congrats on the chicks! They are adorable. I have a broody due any day now too [IMG] The hens look like wheaton OEG, are they bantams or standard?
