Had our first hatch of india blue pea chicks yesterday. They are so funny when they first hatch learning how to use those long legs.

They have lots of "friends" to chose from. There are guinea's, buff orps, dark cornish and later today or tomorrow turkey poults in the brooder with them. They will be soooooo confused. lol

Very very cute! I hope to have some hatching in a couple of weeks too - I didn't have a lot of luck incubating them last year, so I'm trying broody French Cuckoo Marans, Silkie and another small hen.

I also had my first pea chick hatch on Thursday. I had the only pea egg with some duck eggs. I only had one duck hatch so now there is a pea chick and a duckling in the brooder. Odd bedfellows. But I'm very pleased that this pea egg hatched. I just started with peafowl last fall and this was the first egg that they had laid. I have about a dozen more in the incubator and I am hopefully awaiting good results.
