Hi everyone, I have been reading on here for ages, but finally posting. I am watching baby chicks hatch now. out of 35 eggs, I have 3 out and playing kickball with the other eggs. Is that OK?

Every hatch, they tend to do that. It's okay as far as I know. Not ideal...but okay at least.

A few of the other eggs have holes in them already. Some I can tell are from the chicks inside, and some I wonder if my little kickball players have maybe cracked. My 1 year old housedog that I have raised from birth thinks I have him a new squeakier toy on the counter that I'm not giving him.

One of the reasons I put my eggs in cartons to hatch is to keep them from playing soccer with the unhatched eggs. I think they do better if they are stable...

... but at this point in time... just leave them alone and let as many hatch in 24 hours as you can!

Good luck.
