My broody just hatched her first chick. This is a first for me too! What do I need to do? She is still in the coop where the others go...should I leave her or move them? Go ahead and put chick food out? Tell me everything lol :wee

Well I couldn't break her broodiness so I got her a fertile egg from someone else to let her hatch one

It's not a bad thing. I was just wondering. She will in the next day or so, if she hasn't already, take the chick out of the nest and start teaching it how to be a chicken. So if you haven't already, go ahead and put out chick developer, but unless you want to feed the whole flock chick developer you'll have to separate the mother hen and her chick. As long as you have food and water available, the mother hen will pretty much take care of everything else.
