One of the chicks that hatched today, did not fully absorb the yolk sac, this caused alot of the other eggs to get coated with yolk. As the other eggs are due to hatch should i use some warm water and wash the off so that the pores are not plugged by the yolk? Btw the chick with the unabsorbed yolk is in the other tank and already pecking away at the food and water. Please help i do now want to lose any precious little ones, ty

I don't know that I can help, but saw no one had answered. Glad to hear that the one that hatched with yolk sack was doing okay, hope it still is well. I wonder if it would help to change your title to "will yoke on eggs hurt remaining hatch?" I'm guessing that they are going to be okay, but I don't really know, so hope someone that might know sees your post. Please do update us with how things turned out.

No don't wash the eggs. Opening the bator during lockdown is not a good idea!!! It could dry out any pips you may have and cause problems hatching. Thanks Lorraine for bumping!

Sorry it took so long to post an update, work has been really hectic. UGG Thanks for the advice ended up with 4 that made it, they are all going to be heading to the coop this week.
Last night I had one hatch, I felt bad that there was only 1 egg to hatch so he.she has no buddies yet, BUT the guineas should start hatching anyday. they started lock down on Monday. Should be out by Sunday at the latest, Any other guinea hatchers here? these were taken from a nest that was not being watched by the mommy, so I hope that they are fertile. New batch will go in other incubator today. I am having so much fun!!![IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
