First time chick mama

    They told us these girls were Aruacana, but based on research, I'm thinkink we were played. Can anyone tell me what these babies are? (4 Buff Orpingtons, supposedly 4 Aruacana) [​IMG]

    The bird pictured is an Easter Egger cockerel. Large scale chick suppliers frequently label EE as Ameraucanas or Araucanas - this is the designations they receive from the hatcheries.

    Don't panic - I may be wrong on that gender guess. Chick is a little young, but color is fairly typical of EE cockerels. Even with sexed birds there is a 10 % gender error.

    ok. we don't mind if they are EE we just wanted the colored eggs for some variety and it will be fun for the kids. We don't want any roosters though, so we will be praying!
