I'm hatching chickens for the first time....do you guys have any tips on how to improve hatch rate?
Does anyone have any amazing tips for hatching?
i'm fairly new at this myself but the folks on here will need more info such as temps humidity levels what kind of incubator you are using. is it still air or fan. what are you hatching? good luck to you. it is a lot of fun
What type of incubator are you using?
Are they shipped eggs? If so you should let them sit big side up for 24 hours before setting. Also many people say not to turn them for the first 3 days in the incubator to give the air cell extra time to settle. I do 45 - 50% humidity until day 18, and then 75-80% during lockdown. I'm still learning too, I've had one hatch and now have 3 different batches going. I'm also taking notes in case I do something different and get a better, or worse hatch from it.
