So my first chicks have started hatching and I don't know what I need to do now! I have always purchased chicks and raised them inside until they are feather. Does Momma Hen do all the work? Do I need to put chick feed in there? They are in an enclosed hen house and none of the other chickens can get in. Any and all advice is welcome![IMG]

Congrats on the babies! Momma hen will take care of them :) You do need to give them chick feed, layer feed can be harmful to chicks because it doesn't have enough protein and they don't need the extra calcium.

Here's a link with a run down of what you can expect :)

Thanks for the info! We are going to keep her and the chicks separate for now. I have a waterer and chick feed in there for her and them. We are up to six healthy chicks with a few more eggs still waiting.
