I normally candle every other day starting at day 3, so I would go ahead and take a look. [IMG]

Since it is your first time, you may want to wait until the 5-7 days mark. Until then, it sometimes takes a trained eye to see any development. At the 5-7 day mark, you should see some really good veining and an embryo developing. Just make sure not to use the candler for too long since most of them heat up the egg.

I try to handle the eggs as little as possible, so I only candle on day 10 and day 18, right before lockdown. I do look at and smell the eggs carefully - it one starts to smell or weep I put a baggie over my hand and very carefully remove the egg, turning the bag around and over it as I go.

Happy hatching, hope you have two healthy chicks!
