My EE has been sitting a nest (10 eggs) and they started hatching yesterday. Two babies were out in the rain - still wet but alive and out of the nest box. I picked them up and tucked one under each of her wings. I went back an hour later and the little yellow one was dry and chirping. I didn't want to disturb her too much as she is still sitting eggs. Can I safely remove her to check on baby chicks and eggs without squashing either?

I would just move her over a little to look underneath her. Ive done this before with my sitting mother duck, she just hisses alot.

If you dont move her too much, it will be fine.

Hope this helps!
