First Time Mother Hen :)

Hi all! Im a first time chicken keeper, waiting on our flock to arrive now. Ordered 5 RIR and 5 Barred Rock hens and 1 BR rooster. After reading some threads on here Im nervous about the rooster choice now Getting the brooder box ready now and building the coop this weekend, and our little ones are very excited. I was hoping to also have some Blue Americaunas but I waited too long to order chicks

I think you have a nice group of birds coming! Don't be nervous about having a roo. I have found that sometimes it helps to sort of ignore the roo in the brooder and not get all mushy with it and many times this keeps them knowing that you are in charge. This worked with many of my quail roos too.
