Hello from Maryland!
My husband and I have decided to take on the endeavor of raising chickens (for eggs). We are on a small lot on the edge of town. Our lot is in city limits, but behind us it is not. We could get a small fine for having them, but we will take the risk. With just a few hens, and neighbors who are glad we are getting them we are not too worried. I also have a friend that can take them if we had to rehome them ASAP.
We are getting this coop delivered this week: http://www.ebay.com:80/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390393673121&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:3160
So far I have 2 BLR Wyandotte pullets. I'd like one or two more. I was thinking silkies maybe? The breeder I'm getting the BLR's from also have Cucko Marans. So maybe them? I'm looking for docile, fairly quiet birds. Good layers hopefully, but quiet and docile take precedence.
