First timer

Hello my name is Debra, and i live in Australia and i have a 6 week old buff silkie that im treating like a baby! im so inlove! but just want to keep Little Lucy Happy. first chicken, city girl! so i kinda have no clue what im doing, just googling alot and loving her. any important advice i need to know apart from keeping warm and feeding her little chicken feed? looking forward to making friends and chatting about our chickens

Welcome and read lots. The learning center is a good place to start. At 6 weeks heat shouldn't be much of an issue since it's probably quite warm there now.

Chickens are flock animals and need friends. I did know someone that raised a silkie as a lone house chicken but it had dogs and cats in the house that it dominated and it thought it was a dog.
I do not recommend that approach though.

I agree with the above post. Chickens are very social creatures and your chick will be happy with a chick buddy. And do check out the Learning Center here. There are some great articles on chicken keeping there.

I agree with the above posts, chickens are much happier with raised with other chickens - get her a friend.
