first try at chickens

    Just got home with my first flock of chickens.I have 8 Rhode island reds. They are about 2 months old. So wish me luck.

    Good luck! You will have a blast! Starting with older chicks is way easier then raising day old chicks! I just raised 25 chicks and it was a ton of work, but in the end so worth it! I hope your RIR have been handled and interacted with. Chickens are so much fun when they like (or at least tolerate lol) people. Oh! Watch out for chicken math! It will creep up on you! [​IMG]

    just got my babies so cute! practically everyone in my group of friends even my neighborhood loves them! we decided to get them actually from our neighbors! surprisingly they're wicked easy i love them their names are eh hem,[​IMG]

    The only one that has a name so far is the rooster . My wife named him Kellogg .This is the only pic I have of them so far .

    Wow, what lovely colours! He's very nice.
    I find it pretty much impossible to take pictures of my chickens, they don't keep still. :lol:

    Is that straw you put in the coop? We regularly put our grass clippings in from the lawn, curbs the smell and they like the play in it.
