Looks like I'm going to have a decent hatch after all. Here are the first two keets from today's hatch: One I'm almost positive is a Pearl Gray - or it's the darkest Buff Dundotte ever hatched. The other is definitely a Buff Dundotte, but it's still too wet to tell if it's a male or a female. My parents are: Buff Dundotte male, 3 Chocolate hens and 1 Buff hen. The Pearl Gray must be "stray" genetics at work. Thirty eggs left to hatch. I'm hoping for 25 keets. The older keet is my Buff Dundotte female who hatched July 19th. I'm so happy! The Pearl Gray (?) The Buff Dundotte - hatched about an hour ago. The Buff Dundotte hen - about 4 weeks old. (She's suspicious of me) I'll keep getting pictures as they hatch. (Yes, that's right Peeps, I'll keep getting pictures. You can hold your breath.) I have 4 pips at the moment, so I'm hoping to wake up to at least a few more keets in the a.m.
