hello my name is Dawn and I am 43yrs. young! My husband and I just moved into an old farm house with barns....nice barns for such an old rough house, so we decided to get busy on our mini farm! Well as a result we have 12 pigs,5 calves and 40 hens and 22 roosters and 23 meat chickens!!! Who knew you could do this everyday and enjoy it! They keep me busy and are all unique in their own way! But as a newbie I am learning there is a lot I didn't know!!! So glad to be here and will enjoy any and all input you can give us!! Thanks...Dawn

Greetings from Kansas, Dawn, and [IMG]! Pleased you joined us! That's a lot of roosters - are they destined to be part of your meat bird flock? Best wishes to you and your farm!

[IMG]I was going to say the same thing as Redsoxs - if you want fertile eggs 4-5 roosters would be enough - unless you have soup plans for the extras
