i incubated some chicks, moved to brooder box, next day there was blood EVERYWHERE, one chick had this thin worm like thing on the underside of tummy (i assume now it was umbilical cord) also had this long red mass hanging out of bottom, it was moving around okay but perhaps a little lethargic...

SO.. Was this a normal thing
Was it normal to start out and other chicks burst the bottom thing and it bleed out
    Was this abnormal??

we put the chick down, but would like to know what was happening and if it could have been okay??
