Flax seed

    I found a place that I can buy two pounds of Flax seed for $.99 I'm just curious how much I should give my chickens... I have 23 birds.

    Don't laugh it is actually the $.99 store [​IMG] I think they are national but not sure.

    50 pound sack of flax is about $25 at teh feed store

    I give 2 Tablespoons in the feed for 20 large birds or 9 geese.

    I think I am going to look into getting some. I have tried to new Purina with Omega and they love it, but the price is going to kill my pocket! I bought 2 bags yesterday, with a coupon but after that I will go back to either Blue Seal or Dumor...not sure which one!!!

    My feed store sells it by the pound for 85 cents a pound. I only have 11 chickens so I picked up 2 pounds. Gonna just give 3 tbs a day with their scratch see how that goes with the taste.
