Flea Powder?

I friend of mine just called and asked me if she can use flea powder on her chickens. She said she found a small bug that looked like a flea on her hen and that the hen has lost some feathers on her head where she found the bug. I told her I had no idea but that I would ask the pros.

I've heard of using Adams dog/cat flea shampoo..not sure about the powder..sorry. I'd imagine its close though...

Thank you! I was just reading my flea powder and it said not to use on humans but nothing about birds, so I'm going to assume it would be ok.

I would get a poultry powder or get some play sand and DE for them to coat themselves in. I have never had a flea problem but feeding your chickens garlic is a great holistic way to eliminate blood sucking buggies. (Never tried it myself but I eat a lot of garlic and never get bit my mosquitos so...)
