Ugh, fleas like crazy in my grass outside. What can I used besides DE that's safe and can do an entire acre? We already did the entire yard with DE last weekend and we don't see a difference. We are treating our dogs with Frontline and I don't have fleas in my house, but the dogs are non-stop scratching and while I can't find fleas on them, I can find bites. When you go outside in yard you can literally see them jump on you. The chickens free range during the day, but they seem to be fine. I don't see them scratching nor do I see fleas on them. What can I do that's safe for them? Or safe enough if I keep them in their run a few days?
Go buy Dusting Powder....That is what it is called...I had fleas in my Duck house...It can be bought at any livestock store.... Works great...
Anything you use in the yard to kill fleas will also kill every other insect out there; butterflies, everything. It's not a good idea, really. Some (more toxic) flea products will also repel some of the fleas. I'm not sure about deet, anyone know? Deepwoods Off is my friend for mosquito repellants, anyway. Mary
