Hello everyone! đź’•

I haven't posted on been on here in a good while, but today I came across something that has me stumped. I have a large run that I clean up each morning. As I was scooping chicken poop I noticed one had a tinge of blood and had a pink mass inside it. Being a bit alarmed by it, I took it in and rinsed it off to get a better look. The mass looks like raw chicken, so whoever it came from, it may be their insides coming out? Has anyone seen anything like this before? All of my birds look bright eyed and fluffy bottomed. Eating drinking and going about their business as usual. please note the mass as encased in poop, though the over all appearance of the stool itself looked normal.

It looks like sloughing of intestinal lining. There's not much that can be done except to try and observe your hens feces more closely to try and see which hen is the guilty party. Hopefully it's a one time event.
