[IMG] Ugh! I've lost 14 chickens in the past two weeks that have been breaking into my coop and biting the heads off my chickens! It's probably a raccoon or weasel and I am just SIDEWAYS!! I've baited the trap with peanut butter, marshmellows, tunafish, banannas, and I've got NOTHING!! Any ideas? I'm down to ONE poor chicken who is barely hanging on for life. I washed her and put on neosporin and she's up eating and scratching now, but I want this THING gone before I replace my flock? Any ideas????

If it is a weasel none of those baits will do--use part of one of the chickens it killed. Then rebuild your coop so it is more secure--remember a weasel can get through about an half-inch hole and coons can tear their way in as well as open latches. BTW I had the same thing happen--weasel--to my last flock and had to rebuild the coop door--it was getting in through a mouse hole under it--and trapped the bugger using a chicken head. Did them both on the same day and haven't had a problem since <knock on wood>.

Quote:sorry about your chickens.try baiting with dry catfood, and useing a light triger on the trap.if that doesnt work use what you know they WILL eat.go to the store and buy a can of chunk chicken.open the can 1/3 of the way and zip tie it to the back of the trap.
