my girls are less then a year old. mixed flock hens. 2 gold sex, 1 cochin, 2 australorpes and 1 easter egger. I have to move due to an emergency. and it kills me to rehome them. i just want them to be safe and happy.

I’m so sorry! I just had to do that & as matter of fact I just cried again about 15 mins ago thinking about them...and it was about a month ago. I do have one of my hens back after a very large vet bill bc she was nearly plucked to death. So she’s recouping. I had a rooster & live in town... cops came! I WAS PISSED! STILL AM!!! I didn’t call cops on your yapping dog! Never would! Unless of course he’s being tortured or neglected or harmed etc.! Then you’re really screwed! Anyway, I miss them but as long as you’re comfortable with where they’re going, it helps... it’s never easy but will get less hard over time. The reason I’m replying is bc I know how you feel AND bc I was wondering where you live? Idk my way around on this site so maybe your hometown is listed but if you’re near the region, let me know. I spoiled my 3 hens, 2 ducks & my rooster.!!! I’m not all that happy with their rehome at the moment bc they didn’t notice the bloody rear end on my almost deceased hen. Thank goodness I went to visit even though I couldn’t afford to take her - but I live in Crown Point Indiana & plan on taking them all to a rescue farm in Hobart, IN where I know - it’s a rescue farm- there has to be LOVE & CARE there, right???- where I know they’ll be cared for! I can still visit & am filling out paperwork when I take them so I can volunteer. Everything is donated. So all they ask of me is to bring a 50lb bag of food per bird...that’s not a lot of money but it is for me at the moment so I’m not quite ready to take them 😢 plus my hen needs to finish healing - but I need to do it SOON before it’s too late! Why does money run & ruin my world?!?! But if you’re close to my area lmk... and GOOD LUCK!

Hi, I'm in Broomfield with a small mixed flock of my own. Are you still looking for a good home for them? My name is Jennifer.
