This needs to be examined, analysed and understood in a holistic way, over a 20-30 year timescale, if we are to deal with flood risk and all the other different modern demands on land use in a manner which is affordable and sustainable in the long-term.

We are fine than you. We live in marshland on the East coast but we are surrounded by dykes and water is continually pumped out over the defences to the sea. Ironically because sea surges are a threat, we are better drained than areas away from the sea. Tonight we are expecting a hurricane to hit Wales and the West coast. Happy Days!!!

I saw the flooding in the news. Flooding scares me and there is hardly nothing we can do to prevent it. We build dykes, use sandbags, and other means, and still it comes. I live in NC and we occasionally have flooding in our area usually due to hurricanes and tropical storms. Stay high, dry, and safe!
