Google can’t do it. SIRI was rude to me when I asked. I really need to tell one of my hens, that she’s becoming just too fat. She eats everything, and that’s not healthy for her. :hit
:eek:Well, then, it was right of SIRI to be rude to you. You NEVER tell a lady she is too fat.:duc

I guess I never really thought of those as they are 'meat birds', not 'dual purpose' birds. Thanks for including them...I suspect we won't really be able to tell until they look like 'mini me' s ?probably another 3-4 weeks 'till they are pretty much all feathered in?
Part way feathered (back, some breast) can eliminate some, others have to wait for the 12 week adult moult. The Swedish flower hen is another maybe (although slim) as there's such an array of colors. I'm kinda leaning towards the grey ranger with an OE as the other most likely due to the hint of feathering on the leg...

Do give us an update....I am hoping for significant improvement between B vitamins and the wrapping!:fl:fl I suspect you will need to re-wrap them for a while, though, given how curled they were...unless it was due solely to vit. deficiency.

I'm glad my suggestion was helpful.❤️

Thanks for your input on mystery gal!:love
Took wrap off tonight. Will replace tomorrow. The inside toes are still curled, but he was moving better than before, even better wrapped. I have a different feed this time and I need to do a side by side comparison. It's got a great protein content, but maybe the vitamins are off. Will have to see if I can find the packaging (dump into a tote for ease of access/keeping pests out)....

I have one chicken (Alinta) that has been walking around tut tutting for almost a week, being tormented by the others. Yesterday I realized I hadn't seen Rosie all day.
Yup one puffed up chicken awaited me when I dropped down the egg door.

If you aren't sure about the vitamins in the feed, there are packets of powdered vit. & mineral packets that get put into water...can use to supplement the feed as a precaution.

Speaking of that...how is her therapy & progress going? I was amazed at the improvement you made with her in just a few days between the boot and therapy. Such a good chicken mamma...all the massaging and exercise I am positive is a big part of the improvement...and the boot helps to 'maintain' the progress between sessions.:bow
Bernadette has informed me in no uncertain terms that she is not a special needs chicken. Therapy has stopped and she has resumed scary daredevil antics (like trying to fly up to the rafters).
She does sometimes stop and sort of move her left foot around like it aches a bit - but she is using it fully normally as far as I can tell.
Here is a poor quality and uninteresting screen grab of her - I saved it to send to the vet because it shows what I think is completely normal leg position. The ‘bad’ leg is the one nearest the camera.

You cannot overdose with B2 (or any B vitamin, but B2 is the one most related to the whole lameness thing).
Get some intended for humans and tip it in the water.
I got liquid drops and put a drip in the water bucket and for a few days I was dipping Bernadette’s beak in the drops directly. I am sure she got several hundred times the chicken requirement but the vet agreed with all my research that it didn’t matter.
Warning though, it is yellow. The stains wash out but get everywhere!
